How to spend a day in Valencia?

Valencia (or València in Catalan) is the third larges city in Spain by population. Not by chance Valencia got the nickname orange city: the city is surrounded by orange plantings, and we can also find orange trees in the town, for instance, also on the square in front of the town hall. In Valencia, products made of orange are sold: chocolate-covered orange, orange candy, perfume...

The main attraction of the orange city is the Silk Exchange. Built in the 15th Century, in Gothic style. The twisted columned hall was once a place where silk was traded. On Sunday, to the Silk Exchange, the entrance is free, however, it is only open until two PM (last entrance at half past one).

The Silk Exchange has a wonderful garden, where we can find orange trees, palm trees and a fountain.

Next to the Silk Exchange, we found a market with varied handmade products. The old town is also incredible with its narrow streets.

Valencia also has a modern part which is according to me, a great example that modern architecture also can be impressive: this is Óceonogràphic and the buildings nearby. The buildings are surrounded by plants and water.
